Ashraf has 27 years of experience across financial services consulting, equity research, investment analysis, corporate finance advisory, balance sheet restructuring, investment governance, and risk management. He has held senior leadership and advisory roles at Deloitte, HSBC, EY, Gulf Bank and has work experience in both South Africa and the Middle East.

Ashraf established and led the corporate finance team at Gulf Bank (Kuwait) and the Financial Advisory Services practice at Deloitte (Kuwait). In the mid-2000s, he contributed to thought leadership on BEE deal structuring and was frequently quoted in South Africa’s financial press.

Ashraf’s governance experience includes serving as a non-executive director on boards of entities operating in Financial Services, Insurtech, Mining and Retirement Funds environment.

Ashraf holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Post Graduate Diploma in Estate Planning from University of Free State. Ashraf also holds the CA(SA), CFA, and CFP designations.
